butterflies

i wish i could say the holometabulous wings inside of me were all real,
but unfortunately they are just a symptom of being open like a book,
never has it been so easy to dismiss myself from my own wheel,
when you live as far up in the clouds as i've known to be easily shook

falling from such great heights is just as it would be to be shocked mid-sleep,
i wish i could have been quicker with my suggestions towards him now,
cowardess has gained me no emeralds in the close past so in spirit of such unrequited leaps,
i should from now on be more forward as to prevent such dark traps and self made scowls
